Mystocap, or Mystery Tournament Companion App, is a program used to assist in running mystery tournaments. It chooses a game and displays the controls, button layout, recommended ruleset, and any information about the game you'd more than likely find on an arcade machine or the first couple pages of a manual. It also includes the ability to filter out specific genres or systems, so if you wanted to have a mystery tournament using only puzzle or shmup games from the arcade, you could do that.

Right now, Mystocap only has the data for arcade games compatible with MAME and FBA, only has the standard six-button arcade stick layout, and only gives the option to pick a game randomly with no repeats. It's also pretty bare-looking. Eventually, I'll have data in for each easily-emulated console (SNES is on the way) as well as the ability to change the layout to different gamepad standards (SNES/Saturn/etc). You'll also be able to set it up for different types of mystery tournaments, search for specific games, randomly pick a set of games for a specific amount of tournament rounds so setups can be prepared ahead of time, and filter for 2v2 and free-for-all games. There will also be a "Pi-friendly" setting that will filter out games that won't run well or at all on a Raspberry Pi 3.

Once that's done, the app is officially out. Post-release plans would involve putting high-end emulated (i.e. PS2) or non-emulated console/Steam releases in the database, and hopefully either commission art for the app or struggle through drawing myself.

The app will always be free to use on itch.io, and you can download a windows desktop version for free as well. I left the option to donate on there as an incentive for myself to work on this as it's done in my spare time, and testing and gathering data for each game takes a while.

KNOWN BUGS
- App crashes once all games are selected. Refresh page/close app.
- Options reset once you leave and then re-enter options screen. This is as intended for now but will change later.
- Can see app running through filtered-out games when it's trying to find one. As intended right now, will change later.
- Looks ugly as sin. So do I. It's not exactly intended, but it's what I got to work with. :P Will work on UI design once SNES testing/data is finished.
